England In 1819 at the Foyer in Huntsville, AL

England In 1819 at The Foyer in Huntsville, AL

England in 1819, a two guy musical duo Batman and Robin, from Baton Rouge, LA had the college crowd at The Foyer intrigued by their unique style of music. The music ranged from synths, programmed beats and tracks, to live guitars, keyboards, bass and French horn.  Very ethereal music almost operatic style vocals. Electronica meets midevil opera  some may say. In the 55 minute set there were songs very dirge like and others like a Moby house music, Electronica beat style music.   All songs in minor keys for the most part.  They ended the show with a song called "Lights" which starts with a synth mutted guitar and sampled programed drum loop and synth loop.  As the song progressed  with layers upon layers of synths and a change to a major key in the chorus almost made you think of some songs from Cold Play off their x and y album.  I could almost hum "lights will guide you home and ignite your bones and  I will try to fix you" over the chorus chord progression.   The duo hung around meeting and greeting with the crowd that enjoyed the music, the coffee and treats at the Foyer.

We put together a smash up of 4 songs by England in 1819. Enjoy!
